"For me, being a therapist is
a calling. I am passionate about what I do."
I have worked in multiple clinical settings as a clinician, which has helped me with diversifying my clinical approach. Please see below for more about my clinical background.
Professional Background
I started my career working in Baltimore City doing community based work for children and families who did not have access to mental health services. I have experience dealing with crisis and severe mood disorders as I worked at a Behavioral Health Hospital, within their Partial Hospitalization Program for both adults and children. Through my time at the hospital program I was able to conduct assessments, family therapy and lead Psycho-educational groups. These groups assist individuals with learning how to identifying their triggers, managing their responses and finding appropriate coping strategies. I also am the founder of Light Your World Today, Inc which is a mental health non-profit focusing on assisting communities that lack mental health resources while incorporating the arts.
Training
I am trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which can help youth and families discuss trauma histories. I am also currently completing a certification to become a Certified Family Trauma Professional and currently completing the hours to be certified in Experiential Therapy.
Education
Johns Hopkins University, MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling
University of Maryland, College Park, BA in Sociology - Concentration in Social Psychology and Stratification
Licensure
I currently hold my LPC in the state of Pennsylvania and Texas.
I am also a Nationally Certified Counselor through NBCC
